Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the Rif mountains and Tetouan city, offering breathtaking mountain views. Explore the charming village of Chefchaouen, known for its Spanish-style square and unique shops. After enjoying lunch at a rooftop restaurant, continue to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.
Start the day with breakfast before heading south through Ifrane and Azrou in the Middle Atlas mountains. Pause in cedar forests to observe Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Traverse the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt, where you’ll witness the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved in volcanic rock. As the landscape transforms into desert tracks, you’ll approach Errachidia. After lunch, continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud, Rissani, and finally Merzouga. Enjoy a refreshing mint tea, securely store your luggage, and embark on a camel ride to a Berber camp in the Erg Chebbi dunes. The camel ride lasts about an hour and a half, leading you to the camp where well-equipped Berber tents await for an enchanting night in the desert. After dinner, gather around a fire and immerse yourself in the traditional Berber drum beats under the stars.
Rise early to witness a stunning sunrise over the dunes, followed by a camel ride back to your hotel. After refreshing and enjoying breakfast, venture towards Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, where you’ll marvel at the impressive cliffs and vibrant landscapes. Your day concludes in the Dades Valley, where you’ll have dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the area.
Begin your day with breakfast and then traverse the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. This picturesque valley, part of the Thousand Kasbah Trail, offers abundant photography opportunities. Visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura before reaching Ouarzazate, often referred to as “the Hollywood of Africa.” Enjoy lunch at the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before continuing through the majestic Tizi N’Tichka Pass, where you’ll reach an altitude of 2,260m in the High Atlas Mountains. Take a moment to savor the breathtaking views and visit an argan oil cooperative before your arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon.
