2 Days In Desert M’hamid El Ghizlaine

Depart at 7:00 AM from your hotel and head directly towards OUARZAZATE. The route passes through mountainous terrain with lush forests, green landscapes, and ancient Amazigh palaces and houses. You’ll take a break at the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, at an elevation of 2,165 meters. Arrive in OUARZAZATE around 11:00 AM, but the city will be explored on a later date. Continue to the village of AGDEZ, known for its panoramic view of Morocco’s largest palm oasis stretching across the Drâa Valley. Enjoy lunch at a charming restaurant. Next, visit ZAGORA, one of the oldest cities in southern Morocco, located near the Drâa Valley. After taking photos, proceed to the desert. Stop at TAMGROUT, famous for its traditional pottery. Visit a local workshop where handcrafted clay products are made. Continue to M’HAMID, and prepare for an hour and a half camel trek through the stunning desert landscape. Upon arrival at the luxury camp, capture photos of the golden dunes of the Chegaga desert, enjoy the desert climate, and partake in sandboarding activities. After dinner, enjoy a traditional Amazigh music performance around a fire, with opportunities to stargaze and possibly spot meteors.

Early in the morning, the camp staff will wake you to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, embark on a 1.5-hour quad bike ride to meet your driver and begin the return journey. In approximately two and a half hours, you will arrive in OUARZAZATE. Visit the famous Atlas Studios with your guide for an hour and a half (entry included). Then, explore the renowned Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with a two-hour guided tour in English. After the visit, enjoy lunch and then proceed to the Kasbah of Telouet, an important tourist attraction. On the way, stop at a cooperative run entirely by Amazigh women, specializing in the production of argan oil and its derivatives. You can also make stops for photo opportunities. Arrive back in Marrakech, marking the end of the tour.
